How come the train doesn't go through the whole city? - trolley cooler bag
I know that you can take the bus / trolley everywhere, but how it is that it is only like 7.8 stops in SF? I had to move a problem, but if DC and rode the trains in New York City and it seems rarely to other towns that the trains pass through only a small part of this big city compared to a $ $. SF is cool, but I'm tired of the bus the whole time.

As the buses and trams are more profitable for a city full of steep slopes and mountainous terrain.
It is no coincidence that the BART and Caltrain lines pass through the flats of San Francisco. Because if you tried to build, elsewhere, would be (1) costs a fortune, and (2) change the level will slowly moves.
In fact, the engineering problem they encounter with small arms to the metro station is constructed from the Powell Street, the Pier (with other stations in the Chinatown and North Beach). In any computer simulation, to the hills of Chinatown for the causes trains move slowly on a bus.
The point with the S-Bahn is the speed. If your fantasy of the multi-billion dollar rail line does not, can the passengers to their destination faster than a bus, then you have missed a lot of money for nothing.
Both Bart and Caltrain commuter rail service to people as conceived by the city. That is all. BART, in particular, was built to ease traffic on the Bay Bridge to SF trip from the East Bay. Therefore, there are many stops along Market Street, then to the airport, but nowhere else. The same position was that of the old railway line in SF, it was never designed to be a tool to be used in the city, just a way to get there.
San Francisco is full of steep hills. It is simply not possible to build a train in many parts of the city. If there is a service of Bart, Muni light rail or post provided. Muni light rail lines are designated by letter as a number.
